Assassin's Creed Introduces Unexpected Attack on Titan Event for Holiday Season
In a bizarre partnership that defies usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, offering free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Mission Uncovered
According to the official release, "A mysterious meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where hints of prohibited ceremonies and monstrous metamorphoses reverberate through the shadows." The narrative presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with venturing into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to save her companion from a secret group.
The mission focuses on "bizarre trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Settings and Changes
The preview features the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The teaser finishes with a dramatic scene showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who finish the adventure will obtain an unique katana together with several objects hidden throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Latest Free Story Update
This patch also introduces the game's newest no-cost story episode, titled "The Mystery." This humorous mission pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
